B the Change: Support Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Efforts at Bucknell

Bucknell seeks to provide an excellent education to all students, which requires a firm and demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion at all levels of the institution. As alumni who support Bucknell’s mission to develop students who are productive citizens with a sense of justice, self-awareness, compassion and respect for our commonality as people, we have the opportunity to improve and strengthen our alma mater. You can B the Change by learning about areas and programs at Bucknell that are striving to build a more diverse, equitable and inclusive campus community, and supporting these efforts today.

To make a contribution to any of the funds listed below, select “Other” from the drop-down menu on this form, and type the designation of your choice.

  • Anti-Racism Fund – Overseen by the Office of the Provost, the Anti-Racism Fund will support campus-wide anti-racism and anti-bias efforts including but not limited to facilitator training, resource materials, curriculum development, and faculty, staff and student education and programming. This is a very broad fund and likely will be used for many high priority anti-racism efforts across campus.
  • Community College Scholars Program – Bucknell’s Community College Scholars Program (BCCSP) is for high-achieving, low- to moderate-income community college students who want to take their education beyond an associate’s degree. Students may apply for admission and financial aid to Bucknell after successfully completing a six-week summer program, where selected students live on campus to experience academic and campus life at Bucknell. 
  • Edward McKnight Brawley Fund – Income from the fund shall be used to assist students who have been historically underrepresented in activities such as tutorials, workshops and research opportunities and internships, so that they may pursue those activities.
  • Food Insecurity Relief Fund – directly helps meet the immediate needs of Bucknell students by funding purchases for the on-campus food pantry.
  • Griot Institute – The Griot Institute employs the figure of the African griot, or storyteller, as a metaphor for interdisciplinary exploration of the arts, works of literature and cultures of African America, Africa and the African diaspora.
  • International Student Services – supports programming and general operating expenses of the International Student Services (ISS) office.  ISS provides support services and programs to meet the unique needs of international students and the international campus constituency. Striving for a campus climate that is appreciative and respectful of all cultures, International Student Services advocates for the needs of the international community while offering all students opportunities for leadership development and cultural exploration.
  • LGBTQ Resources – supports programming and general operating support of this office. The Office of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans* and Queer Resources works with students, faculty and staff to ensure everyone within the Bucknell community feels safe and valued, and is a resource for the on-campus LGBTQ community so members have the support to succeed academically.
  • Multicultural Student Services – supports programming and general operating expenses of Multicultural Student Services (MSS) office. MSS supports students from racially underrepresented groups and provides cross-cultural learning opportunities for the entire campus community; focuses on advocacy, leadership development, global literacy and civic engagement; and aims to foster a campus climate that recognizes, appreciates and shares a mutual understanding and respect for all cultures.
  • Women’s Resource Center – supports programming and general operating support of the Women’s Resource Center (WRC) office. The WRC is a place of advocacy, support and safety for all members of the Bucknell community that seeks to foster a campus community in which women and men live and work in a climate of mutual respect, understanding and equality. The WRC supports the University’s mission to develop students who are productive citizens with a sense of justice, self-awareness, compassion and respect for our commonality as people.
