BUAA Board of Directors Update-August 2019

The summer Bucknell Alumni Association Board of Directors meeting, held on campus during Reunion Weekend, challenged members to think critically about how we—as individuals and as a board—can help guarantee a strong, vibrant future for Bucknell.

The BUAA Development and Volunteer Relations Committee recently sponsored the inaugural Student Donor Recognition Reception. Held on April 17 in the Weis Center, this event recognized all students who made a financial contribution to an area of campus they care about, in any amount, during fiscal year 2019.

In addition to speakers, appetizers and great conversation, there was also an “Unselfie Station” where students were encouraged to take a picture and hold up a whiteboard with a “Why I Give” sentiment.

As alumni committed to giving back to Bucknell through our time, talent and treasure, BUAA members submitted our own “Why I Give” sentiment and these were compiled into a poster that was displayed at the event. We are incredibly proud of these students and their contributions back to the University.

Every gift to Bucknell serves the same mission: to offer the best education possible to our students and open up the promise of a Bucknell education to the most talented students, regardless of their means.

It is only through the generous support of alumni, parents and friends that we can continue this mission, and further elevate Bucknell as a leader in undergraduate education.
