BUAA Board of Directors Update-August 2022

The BUAA Board of Directors was thrilled to meet on campus for Reunion June 3-5. It was a stunning weekend to be “back home” for our Board meeting and, for those celebrating, Reunion (congratulations!). Whether or not it was your Reunion year, please enjoy our annual publication, the Reunion edition of The Bucknellian.

The BUAA Board’s top priority for 2020-23 is to identify an intentional and meaningful role in the next comprehensive fundraising campaign, and in preparation, we are continuing to educate ourselves not only as ambassadors of Bucknell, but also how we as alumni might add the most value. To this end, we received a state of the University update from President Bravman during our meeting and held an extensive and illuminating Q&A session with Jermaine Truax, director of athletics, about opportunities for and challenges faced by our student-athletes and the Patriot League.

We engaged in community building, welcomed new members and recognized those graduating to emeritus status who have given so much of their time, talent and treasure to the Board and to Bucknell. Emeritus members joined our full Board meeting, followed by a champagne reception where we also celebrated the achievement of reaching 100% giving by the Board for the 2021-22 fiscal year.

A highlight of the weekend was celebrating our Alumni Award recipients Saturday morning in the Terrace Room. It is such an honor and an inspiration to meet and hear from Bucknellians who are doing remarkable things to change the world. Congratulations to Connie Tressler ’62 M’65 P’90, Loyalty to Bucknell; Kenneth W. Freeman ’72, Outstanding Achievement in Chosen Profession; Channell Wilkins ’82, Service to Humanity; and Dr. Lisa H. Tostanoski ‘12, Young Alumni. Learn more about the winners.

‘ray Bucknell!
